Groundwater is an important and irreplaceable resource in the Texas Hill Country. Mr. Schindel will provide an overview of the hydrologic cycle, discuss the occurrence of groundwater in the Trinity and Edwards aquifers, potential threats to both water quality and quantity, and what you can do to help protect and wisely manage this critical resource. Geary Schindel, P.G. is a Texas registered professional geologist, semi-retired, and president of Karst Works, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in groundwater and resource management. Geary retired from the Edwards Aquifer Authority after 23 years where he served in various positions including Chief Technical Officer, Senior Geologist, and Director of Aquifer Sciences and Karst Initiatives programs. He is the past president of the National Speleological Society and has been a caver for more than 50 years.
